Aim Solo DL 2 usage details
If you’re planning on purchasing an Aim Solo DL 2 for track telemetry, be aware that it will *not* work with the OBDII port. Ask me how I know (it’s a longish story). What does work is tapping into the CAN wires in the passenger side foot well area. The good news about this is that we can get a *lot* of data from our cars this way.
Data that’s available:
RPM
Gear (Actual gear)
Speed
Separate speed for each wheel
Engine Temp
Oil Temp
Ambient Temp
Gear Temp
Front Brake Pressure (PSI)
Rear Brake Pressure (PSI)
Steering Angle
Throttle
Pedal Position
Engine Load
Gearbox Torque
Engine Torque
Brake (still not sure what this is)
Various G forces
I'm not sure if the the device usage will be the same for our non-GP3 brethren or sisteren.
I have my first track day with the Solo DL 2 this weekend and I’m super excited to see how all this data helps me out!!

Unfortunately, I did not. However, the wiring on the GP3 is *very* different from other Mini's, so it probably wouldn't have helped much anyway. The professional that installed it for me had to do some trial and error to find the right twisted pair. None of the online docs, nor other AiM reps he knew and consulted with knew which twisted pair to use.
