So I got my GP2 a couple of months ago and noticed that the hidden compartment above the glove box doesn't open. I push on the panel and nothing happens. I figured that the GP must not have come with the compartment (possibly for weight savings). However, I'm starting to question if it might just be jammed. I can't find anything online that discusses it being absent from the model.

Is there supposed to be a hidden compartment on the 2013 Mini GP?

 

If you check the options for your vin and have option S493 storage compartment package then you should

 

The GP2 didn't come with the secret compartment. This is one thing it was missing, but I actually added it to my GP2 shortly after I got it and have the parts from a wrecked car if you want to add it to yours. It's not too hard to do.
