With brake on, clutch depressed and in gear, when clutch is released there is a noticeable click noise. This also happens when car is on level ground, or in motion, meaning brake, downshift, release clutch...click. Dealer says the click is normal for the hill assist feature but my 2012 S did not make this noise. Thoughts?
Did it always make that sound? Mine was faint at best at 17K, 1K later very noticeable.
If you brought it to the dealers attention what did they say?

a little trick, if you briefly apply the hand brake after letting off the foot brake it turns the hill assist off. May help you sort out where the problem is.

on it already). It's only a minor click so just assumed 'they all do that sir'.
Tried the hand brake idea. After releasing the hand brake then letting up the clutch pedal the noise still happened. Interesting thing is that after a stop it will make the noise the moment I start to release the clutch pedal, almost every time. However sometimes it will make that same noise shortly after I have been in motion with both brake and clutch pedal fully released. Sometimes I can even get it to make the noise with just a short brake a release at slow speeds, no clutch.
