GP value
Hi all,
Looking again at GPs... I considered one in 2013 but never pulled the trigger. I test drove one yesterday and was again smitten. My question is about the current value of the car. I recall about a year ago, they were going for mid to high 20s. It seems that all the GPs out there now are asking close to 30K... what do you think is a fair price for a one owner with 17k miles?
Thanks!

mid to high 20s. You're seeing asking prices, of course. The end results are harder to judge. I have seen one sell on ebay at $28k, plus ebay fees (for the seller, I suppose) and noted private sales where the seller mentioned final selling price (always a good thing to do, imo.) in the same area in the past few months.
Where else can you get one?
...david (mine is for sale. finishing up a solid detail right now)

I am between 2 cars - a privately owned one with 2 previous owners and 12K miles in what seems to be in perfect shape and a 17K miles from an Audi dealership which is a one owner car but not quite as pristine. Nothing really wrong with it but a few rattles and the front lip is very scratched underneath from driveways and such. Seat a little more worn as well. Both about the same price give or take a few $100. Any advice which one to go with?

Wow a year ago? These cars seem to have done depreciating, at least for now. Those are still the same prices. However on mannheim auctions the few that appear seem to be in the very low 20s but with higher mileage.

You are paying for the GP nameplate. The good thing about Gen1 and Gen2 Minis are that you can mod them. There are so many aftermarket items out there and with both models old enough the mods have been sorted out so you know which ones work the best.
There are posts in the Gen1 side on GPs. Some people are willing to pay higher money for the GP letters while others will take the non GP car, mod it and make it better than the GP.
Like Zillon said, if you want one - "Find one and buy it, they don't last long."

I am getting close to making decision and some more input would be really appreciated! There seems to be something 'not right' or suspicious with the GP2 w/12K miles but maybe I am just paranoid .... owner is 3rd owner, bought the car only 60 days ago, put no miles on it practically. He is a CA resident but car is registered in Montana. Thoughts? Car is #0213 by the way.

Many GP2s are extra cars bought by wealthy people as fun toys. Montana reg seems to point towards that. No inspection requirements in MT.
