Removing side decals?

Anyone dislike the side decals like me and thinking about removing them at delivery?

If I were buying one, I'd remove them. Tacky!

I de-badged my jeep, but kept the mini as-is except for dealer stickers.

My husband wouldn't let me arrange the letters from the dealer sticker to spell something rude. :-( :-)

I wanted to remove them and quick so that the paint faded evenly. First i wanted to make sure I could get the original decals to have for later. After talking to the parts guy at the dealer he told me they were $400..... A SIDE. Now I am questioning if it is worth $800 to take them off. Has anyone ordered the decals, and if so did you find them for cheaper?

Day 2, I removed all of the stickers except the GP stickers on hood scoop and doors. I love the toned down look!

Was thinking of doing the same. Would you mind posting some pictures?

OK. I added a picture to my previous post.
Now I want some autocross magnetic numbers in the same font with red edged silver numbers!

Thanks for the pic. I think you just convinced me to pull off those stickers.

It's quick and easy to pull them off. Then you'll need to use a clay bar or cleaning wax to remove a little bit of adhesive - especially at the edges.

Got mine last week and seriously thinking about pulling the same stickers off. Been trying to get used to the lipstick all week, and the sides just seem a little cheap to me. Plenty of red with the mirrors and front aero. Do you have any other pictures?

I removed the horizontal vinyl stripes. Just a personal preference, I found them to be visually distracting from the rest of the car. Very pleased with the results.

The more and more I look at these pics of the GP2 without side stripes, the more I want to take mine off.

Thanks for giving me the nerve to pull em. Top seemed like an afterthought (it was) and a little cheap. Bottom decal was just too much for me. Less clutter, less boy-racer now. Love it. Came off very easy, all four were in one piece at the end. Hair dryer helped keep them soft, and they just left a very thin rim of adhesive at the edges. Came off easily with Meguire's tar remover.

A few weeks ago I removed my horizontal decals and it didn't take but a day or two before I knew just how much better the car looks to me when I walk up to it in a parking lot.

I'm now thinking of ditching the roof decals as well. I think the whole numbering thing is unnecessary. Everyone knows the GP2 was a limited production run and the randomness of the numbers don't necessarily mean anything other than it's somewhere between 1 and 500.

keeping mine stock, at least for now

I had done quite a few cosmetic mods on my 2009 but for now i'm keeping the GP 2 bone stock except for a carbon fiber license plate frame and locking bolts (on order) and window tinting. I don't mind the decals and since that's what MINI decided that's what the GP would look like, i'm OK with that. I'm not crazy about the wheels but that is a GP tradition so it makes them special.

My '09 JCW had some cosmetic modes such as cf hood scoop and boot handle, custom side stripes i designed and made, tinting, shory antenna, custom mats.

Somehow i feel differently about modding look of the GP. To each his own...

I removed the decals and wheels the same day I had the car. I understand it part of the "GP" look, but the stickers and wheels are hideous
