If your looking for more magazines talking about the GP, try the British magazine "EVO"! Its an awsome magazine, especially if you like sport cars!
They have at least two back issues that you can buy (about $16 US dollars), both pitting the GP against other european hot hatches and an over all competition for EVO's car of the year. They did their competition in two groups, the GP in the first group, base on car prices and ability. The GP received very good complements considering it was going against the Lotus Elise and the new BMW Z4 M, and the second group had the likes of Ferrari and Porsche. The GP and Z4 M actually tied!!
But it you can find this magazine, I think its one of the best car magazines out there!!!

I am glad to see you GP guys are a mature bunch. I almost expected a call for a Motor Trend boycott since your particular model was not the "winner". In other forums they freak out because the R56 did not finish ahead of a Mazda.
And remember our GP's can benefit mightily from normal suspension upgrades (wider wheels, wider tires, wider track, adjustable camber plates, fixed front strut brace, beefier rear sway bar, coilovers, and such).
I'm especially impressed the GP did as well as it did considering the standard tires.

GP the very limited edition
I read this article a week or two ago.. In all fairness, Motor Trend should have used a stock MCS R56 in this comparison....Try going down to your dealer and ordering a new GP.....It doesn't appear MT used any other very limited edition......bye the bye ..cheapest 91 octane gas is ARCO..at $3.79 today.

I believe they picked the GP because they were using the 'top of the line' models for every car. Since the JCW R56 isnt out yet, they stepped to the GP R53.
Schao,
You have impeccable taste. I also have a Cayman S.
The really cool thing is I also just purchased an Exige S -- I seriously didn't do it on purpose.
Cheers,

a cayman S, exige S, AND a GP! wow, you must be lovin life with those wheels in your garage.
in the motor trend article, the MINI did win in one of the tests. i forget which one. i think it was the one where they tried changing the direction of the car in mid turn. the MINI was fastest to respond.
I am not surprised that EVO had tied the Z4 M and the MINI, since they are made by the same company. and it's the reason why i bought my MINI in the first place. After driving many of the old Z3 M coupes, and then goin out and driving a MINI for the first time, i was very surprised and impressed with the handling, and how similar the chassis stiffness was in both cars and responsiveness.

they found a car for the R56 class and did a comparo witht hat, it was a suzuki swift.
The MotorTrend comparao was on sports cars, not cheap crappy cars. So, bye bye R56.
p.s. nice Star Wars reference in the sig.
i was a little surprised to see an evo but no sti. whatever, great for MINI
Only if MINI did not run Run Flat Tires. Wish they ran Yokohama Advan Neova A048 like the Lotus and Mitsubishi Evo IX MR. Sorry for Zombie Thread hunting, Dang Search function (dead thread reviver)
