iPod connection

I am looking for info on an i pod hook up for GP 1430. My local stereo shop says the adaptor they sell will play and charge through the stereo, but I won't be able to scroll through songs from the steering wheel controls or the ones on the face of the stereo, only the ipod. Also I will have to turn the ipod off each time I stop the car, or it will keep playing...

Any one have a better solution?

I installed the DICE ipod adaptor last month in my GP. So easy, and much better than the MINI adaptor. It will charge your ipod, automatically turn off when you turn the car off, and also allow you to control the ipod on the steering wheel, stereo, or on the ipod itself. Installation is incredibly easy as well.

SOCRATES,

how did you install the Dice ipod adapter? doesn't it hook up to the cd changer cable? I don't think that GP's have that cable. Does anyone know if the GP has the cd changer cable? I tried to install the Dice HD adaptor and spent 3 hours trying to get it installed and finally had to give up because I couldn't find the cd changer cable in the passinger boot as in all other mini coopers. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

There is no CD changer cable, you will need the head unit kit. I went down the same path as you, as unfortunately no one told me this to begin with.

Good luck!

same here.....

I had the same problem. I had the factory iPod adapter installed and it was terrible. So this past weekend I went ahead and installed the Dice unit in both the GP and in my FJ Cruiser (The M Coupe already has one). All is good now.

Does the i-Toyota-R fit the FJ? I've never seen the FJ listed as working with the Toyota Dice Adapter...
