ondfly, please tell us that you have paperwork that states they will sell you a gp at a specific price. If so, they are in for some trouble.

Morristown Dealer renig on GP SALE!

I have paperwork that states the price of the unit, est. sales tax, reg/title fees, doc fees and deposit.

Just to add insult the same car went on e-bay the next day for a lot more than I was offered for the car.
The sales person was totally ashamed of the decision, so were the managers.

Cris DeMarsico, the General Manager at Morristown Mini said "I have had a bad experience with shipping to California", "I am afraid that you,(ME), will be driving around on expired plates."
I thought that it was the buyer who gets cold feet, NOT the Dealer. I wanted to throwup but kept my composure.

That's awful behaviour from Morristown :(
If you can pay, they should sell.

dealers have the right to refuse service to anybody... while it is the dumbest thing in the world to do... they can do it.

we have done it on rare occasions with completely irrational clients who get in your face and cuss at you because you dont give them a discount (we sell all our cars at msrp) those people we call security and have them escorted to the curb and tell them that we do not WANT nor do we NEED there business.

If you gave them a deposit and have the paper work clearly showing purchase price etc. it is a legally binding contract. However, it will be up to the buyer to seek a legal remedy.

I would contact the Attorney General's office, and seek their assistance. The last thing this dealer wants is the AG's office investigating their dealership.

Here is a link: http://www.state.nj.us/lps/ca/

A well placed letter to an executive of Mini outlining the behavior of this dealership, would also be a plus.

You might want to talk to the owner of this site and see if he can offer any assistance. If nothing else, a thread boycotting this dealer will go along way.

Sterling is nuts if they are asking $5K over MSRP. One GP they have has a scraped front fender arch.

Here is the GP on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RARE-...QQcmdZViewItem

The high bid was $31k

Looks like they should have sold you the car at sticker and everyone would have been happy. I guess common sense gets lost when it comes to some dealers.

I saw the GP in the showroom at Morristown Mini on Friday.....no sticker on the window and I didn't ask about its status. It looked hot!

I just don't understand the appea of the GP. The wing is goofy and doesn't look like it belongs on the car, the red mirror caps are just as out of place, and the same performance can be obtained with a few simple mods. I do, however, like the missing rear seats!

Edit: Sorry if I offended anybody. To each his or her own.

Technically speaking "the goofy wing" is actually a near to perfect spoiler which you can really feel ...

the red mirror caps are just as out of place,
it must be an European thing because the caps was one of the things I loved when I saw the GP @ MINI UNITED

Sorry if I offended anybody. To each his or her own
I am not offended... I am just too happy to motor with GyPsy !!!

There are a handfull left. My last count was around 10 @ MSRP. Dealers are starting to see the 5K OVER sticker dry up! Holding out for the 07's. Christina in Ill. still has one from the above post, CA even has some that they will let go at MSRP.

. . . just for the record: MINI of Towson here in Baltimore ended up selling both of their "extra" GP's for $8000.00 each over sticker! :impatient

had been on the waiting list fror mini of concord since the start of the year.(since I got my mini from them last year) as soon as one showed up the salesman called me and offered it to me for 5k over msrp. I asked why since Im on waiting list and he replied thats just the way it is. I told them Ill pass a few months later they called back offering me the same car for 2k over msrp. I said HELL NO. they could just wait for the next sucker I rather wait for the 07 turbo.... boost baby and for sure Im not getting it from mini of concord..............
