GP 0223 is on Ebay, sadly

Just a brief note, I am soon not to be a GP owner. The funnest car I have ever owned has to go, for the greater good. Our home is on a real estate contract due to be closed out in 14 months. The investment group that holds the note came to us a few days ago and offered a $50K discount if we close out asap. The mortgage folks say I need to adjust my debts and assets to make it fly so... the cool car is the first to go. Please don't start flaming because there is no point. We all sell our cars sometime. This was just one of those unexpectedly short romances.

btw, hope springs eternal and I am serious about looking for one again in the future. For anyone interested, here is a link.

Thanks, I don't know why I am so attached to this car. I've bought 6 vehicles this year and sold four, last year about 7 or 8. This is just such a cool car. Oh well. Maybe I can come back to one later or maybe after I drive the '07 I won't look back.

I'll be curious to see if a used GP is worth the same as a new GP.

I don't change cars all that often, I jut keep lot of vehicles and I buy and sell fleets sometimes. Most of the cars last year were an electrician company service fleet I bought. I used a couple in NJ for a while then offed 'em. This year includes a car trailer and a 40' flatbed trailer. Because I work all over the country sometimes I find, if the job is long enough, that it is cheaper to buy a car and resell it rather than rent. Plus I like cars. Two of the cars I sold this year are vintage racers. I just like vehicles. What can I say? I grew up with HotWheels!

I gues my price must be high? I have 2100 page views, 79 bidders watching and dozens of emails. Showed the car today to a non-MINI owner who is enthusiastically looking into his financing. He mentioned looking at a heavily modded JCW a while back and said it felt "thrown together" and that the GP felt perfect. Three more days to see...

Price too high? Nah ... I paid about $42,000 for my fully loaded MCS (without GPS) with tax and everything. Government charges quite a high premium here in Canada, and paying $42k (1:1.1 exchange rate, typical expense is higher, typical income is lower) for a Mini here is by no means just a sport compact car, it's an addiction. I'm sure it is much more affordable in the States.

Only time when cost is about the same, is, mods
