Nah Spidey that's just LMB's discrete way of informing me that he's "tired" of my numerous, yet good natured anti-GP jabs. Yet the more he does this, the more I will jab (the car, that is, not him).

Viva la democracy! Right on, LMB, love the cool snoring smiley! Did U get that off the Camry forum?

heated seats DSC incompletely colored aero kit red mirror caps those wheels that "wing" the "uniqueness" of having a car that 399 others in America will have Oh the GeePee fun just never stops......

I'm torn between:

--Jealousy can be so tiresome.

and

--Oh, well. Some of us do like the GP. You don't. Get over it.

Pick one.

Geez ole buddy, you post against the GP more than I post for it, and I bought one. How about posting a pic of your MINI and the specs on it, so we can see what really good taste you have? Did I remember wrong, or are you not the member with the custom armrest?

To devote this much time to a hate campaign, you must be eaten up with something.

Personally i love the car, i wish i was in the market for a MINI right now and i would have bought one. But the practicallity issue doesn t do much for me. i need more than 2 seats as it would have been a daily driver.

i still love it though

the ultimate authority on car quality! If only I had known that earlier in life, I could have saved a lot of time and effort. Oh well....

So what that there will be 415 of them (not 400). Guess how many 65 Shelby GT-350s were made in the first year. Or in the second. First year was around 250, second year was well over 1000 (because of the GT-350H). Rarity is a relative term. Out of a car where 50k are sold, 415 is a very small number (less than 1% for the math challenged).

I guess one of the bonuses that isn't listed by Mini is pissing you off with the car! That's worth ~$1000 dollars!

Sure, it's not a "track only" hard to live with pure race car. The year ford did a 351 version of the Cobra for track work only (I think it was the 95, but I'm not sure), you could buy one new for about 3-4 years! And only a couple of hundred were made. Guess that not that many people really want a race car that is a pain to drive on the street. Big surprise there!

So I guess the audience understands that the GP doesn't meet your level of expectations compared to what it could have been. I kind of agree myself, but it's not priced too high, and I'm sure that those who will buy it will have a great time with it.

And isn't that what it's all about?

Matt

Try 2000 of them. The fact remains 2000 of these engines/cars have been made not just the 415 in US.

This Egotism is Killing me....

I just love (some) of U GeePee'ers, so danged passionate about your cars, and NOT the least bit BORING in your self-congratulatory nature; howzaboot a nice mirror tint for your windows to go with your precious roof production number? And you know LMB, I might expect something wittier and creative from a Mini2 "Global Moderator" than that little "blah-blah" symbol. Then, I guess that just reflects right back atcha, eh? Your "boring" friend thru thick and thin, 'quence

So has anyone taken delivery yet? Personally when I first saw the GP I didn't like it's looks. Now I really really want one! I don't know why. I don't even have my first MINI and I'm already lusting for another. There's just something about it that I like.

It's too bad so many are sooo negative about it. It's a MINI people show some solidarity!!

MiniChik, all the info and discussion about the GP is taking place on MINI2. The Fuzzy Hubby and I are picking up his GP at the Monterey early delivery ceremony.

Thanks for all the info!

I was hoping to do a leg of MINI Takes the States but it doesn't look like I'll have my MINI in time.

MJO, so you aren't getting the GP at Monterey? Instead when they arrive at the dealership?

not sure if anyone mentioned this but the GPs are built in Italy and not in Oxford England. There's a bit more exclusivity there as well

Dealership Delivery

I was too late for the Montery delivery (not to mention I couldn't afford the cost or take the time off work). So I will need to wait until September (approx.) But I don't mind. Gives me more time to save up a downpayment. I am really looking forward to it!
