Refinanced my GP for $32.5k
Hi everyone.
I know there has been a lot of talk about the GP's value here when considering location and mileage. I agree with everyone's assessment, but FYI, I wanted to let everyone know what a financing agency thinks.
I refinanced my GP1984 last September (2011) with 25,000 miles on it for $32,500. I was told I got a $5k credit for the low mileage. Kelly blue book considers the Mini GP a "Classic Car", and all the insurance agencies know about it as well. The refi was run with the assistance of a credit union.
That being said I quickly purchased Gap insurance, and took the difference and paid off some high interest credit cards. My miniGP will be around for a while, and now that I bought it twice, I won't be shy about running up the miles on the thing.
I don't know if I agree that it's worth MSRP in 2011, but I appreciate it! (I would go with a price like someone else mentioned which is about $24k @30k miles.)
