Mine's lowered…from the factory and it's as rough and low as any previously modded car I've owned. It's actually rougher than my TCKlein SA setup with 400lb springs on my Z3 MCoupe set to medium firmness, just to give you a point of reference.

I would like to see one lowered on coil-overs beyond the JCW's 15mm.

Are the black wheels with the polished lip in the back Rota's? Those look great. I want to replace my GP wheels with other wheels so I can store the GP wheels to make sure they don't get trashed by Pittsburgh roads

Sure looks like Rota RB.

The other car has a Xenon conversion too.

Nobody's asking but I'll offer an opinion: Lowering any lower than stock GP is a PITA....literally! Lower profile tires make the ride jarring at best unless you drive on nothing but the smoothest of highways. You will scrape on ramps, driveways and any sort of incline. Jacking a GP is complicated enough without making even more difficult by lowering it.

I agree with NC TRACKRAT. The real problem is the side skirts, even at stock height their is minimal clearance. Others have tried but most ended up going back to stock after trashing their skirts.

Hi to all....

I run GP1511 and it has been fitted with KW1 coilovers.....amongst many other bits!!

It has been lowered an additional 15mm and have had no trouble at all.....the little flaps under the front have been removed.

SWEEEET!!!
That 3rd picture looks so good, I never seen a lowered GP like that on stock wheels. It is perfect. Yeah that lip on mine is already scrapping off from the smaller diameter 225/35 tires and the 205/50-15 tires especially. No, really you don't understand, but this pic does it for me!!!
MORE PICS PLEASE!!! Your car is GP ****!!!

Cheers mate,

Have no more pics at the moment and working away from home until next week so will take some when home...

The car has had a fair bit done to it including : -

KW1s
Uprated ARBs
Polybushed
AP Racing brakes
Janspeed manifold & sport cat
Miltek exhaust
15mm spacers to front, 12mm to rear
17% pulley
Panel filter
4 wheel alignment
Corner weighting

Was originally going to change the wheels but now it's lowered and with the spacers bringing the wheels out to fill the arches I think the originals suit...

Although not to everyones taste, the car is a keeper so wanted exactly to the spec I reqd.

Hi mate.....you need to get the shop to order a specific kit. If you want KW1s ( as on mine ) get them to order a pair of fronts for a R53 and a pair of rears to fit a R56 ......you may find you have to pay in full before they will order them as it will be an order specific to you.

Then you have to sit and wait for KW to deliver them!

Regards

The only difference on the rears is that the alluminum rear trailing arms require a spacer on the lower mount. That can be purchased from Helix or Way motor works.

The info I posted was what was given to me by LOHEN who are Mini specialists.....and that's what they had to do to enable me to get my KWs.

There is a specific set of KW's for the GP, but they are the same as the R53 set, they just have the spacers on the shocks to fit the rear trailing arms.

We can get the GP set for you, or just get you an R53 set with our conversion bushings

+1 for my car being in Pittsburgh, lowering an already low car= ripping your front bumper and side skirts off

Guys, I appreciate what's said about scraping however......I went up to Scotland last week on a GP owners club run. Only 2 cars went, mine and one belonging to a Scots guy who warned me that Scottish roads would possibly be difficult for my car!!

1100 miles later and I had NO problems whatsoever and over 200 miles were on what could be classed as "country roads"......UK roads are generally dreadful and I think the only parts likely to scrape are the 2 little flaps under the front bumper.....mine have been taken off and I have not scraped anything either over speed bumps or general use.

The car only sits 15mm lower than standard so I haven't gone silly with it. The difference with the coilovers and that small drop, the 4 wheel alignment and the corner weighting from the standard suspension set up is like the difference between night and day!!

Go for it if you wish, you may be pleasantly surprised
