Then some owners basically bought and garaged the car. I know some folks expected to sell a hardly driven GP at a profit - the car is very special but it's not likely to command a premium.
On top of that some owners, especially California, paid over sticker to get the car back in 2006 - I heard one sell for $38K! So those folks are basing their sale price now on what they paid, rather than on what the car was and now is worth.

I definitely think the "driven" GPs gave more to their owners than the "garaged" ones
I agree with ya totally. I'm planning on driving mine for as much as possible. It's not meant to be lock up in a garage like that.

Talked to the dealership--has a small rock chip in front air scoop (not a deal-breaker), looks to be pretty original.--not willing to budge on price--will wait for something I feel comfortable with.

It does seem to be a clean car though--1 owner, older dude who supposedly has a 10 car garage--bought it new--reportedly never tracked. All service done. Dealer went out and bought the car--wasn't a trade-in or Auction Buy I believe.

Perfect car for someone--just not me!!

Picked up my GP0456 last night. I just can't believe who I got it from, but he's just like Jay Leno!!! His two garages house 70 cars! If you ever watched Chasing Classic Cars on Discovery...that's what his garages have. It was amazing, I'm glad that he sold me the GP. He gave me everything that came with it, even the red wash bucket! The guy is just amazing..he got great taste in cars.

Totally happy with my purchase. Pictures will be up soon I guess...it's look brand spanking new...the stain mark you saw on the seat was from a coffee spills. I'll clean that up tonight.

Thanks! It is a beauty for sure! I'm pretty jealous of you getting the wash bucket and other things though haha I love all of the little additions with low number cars like these.

well. . the search is over!!

GP0411 is at her new digs in VA. After a 12hr drive non stop (except for gas) y'day from AL, I have to say I love the car. Its everything I could have hoped for and more.

The car was pristine when i picked it up but now has 850 miles of rain water, filth and grime on it. Have to find time to detail it ASAP. I even got an extra OEM rim and MINI GP R/C car with the deal. Can't wait to drive it around some curvy roads and not dead-straight highways!!

Wanted to thank everybody here for their help and especially the seller who made the sale painless and hassle-free. Its great to be a part of both the MINI and GP community!!

You didn't get the wash bucket? I guess the previous owner decided auction it off?

I think that only the Monterey deliveries received a free wash bucket, though it was available for purchase at dealerships for a while

They must have! I am still having trouble getting the original manual and extra key from the dealer! Anyone have any leads on a manual? Were they any different than any other MCS?

The manual was standard but there was a GP supplement too, which you can see here:

Still unsure about this. The Monterey delivery GPs had normal black cases. I do have a silver case given to me, but not from a delivered GP.

MINI sent me a wash bucket for 1292 (I was not at Monterey). I think there are other owners who also got one. I never used mine and gave it, soap, sponge, chamois etc etc to the new owner of 1292...even included the black tissue paper and ribbon and greeting card that came with it!
