Dunlop DSST availability

Where else can you source this tire other than the dealer? Apparently its not listed on TireRack. Or has everyone gone away from these run flats and replaced with something more reasonable and quiet. Mine are on the loud side of what I'm used to. But then again, it could be the lack of sound deadening in the rear lol.

I'm not sure that Dunlop even sells that tire in 205/40-18 anymore. Went on there website and searched by Tire Size and I couldn't look up 205/40-18. And like you said, tire rack doesn't have them anymore and they had them a couple months ago from what I remember. If you want to stick with the 205/40-18 tire size, you could go with the Yokohama S.Drive, which I've used on my GP and thought they were pretty good. The S.Drive isn't a Run Flat but I prefer Non-Run Flats. Just purchase a Slime Tire Patch Kit and put it in the Hatch. Besides, who wants to pay $300 per tire! You'll save around $500 just by getting Non-Run Flats.

Oh, I totally agree with you. The only issue is my GP is still on the original tires and it looks like the original owner replaced one tire due to blowout? Well, the other tires are worn out evenly and I'd like to replace one more tire to make them match.

But seeing that is no longer an option, I will just run these down and replace with S. Drives. I had them on my 740i Sport a few years ago and they were ok. I wouldn't mind getting the Hankook V12s but I doubt they come in our sizes. But I was already planning on going to non-run flats and throwing a couple bottles of tire sealant as a precaution.

My last GP0203 tires were Pirelli (runflat), because Dunlop has abandoned that size - but the Pirelli is identical size; seems better grip too.

I have a set of 4 original Dunlop runflats from my GP. they have some good miles left on them and I'd sell them all for $175 total...shipped.

I will take them if you could just verify the depth of the tread remaining. Hopefully you have a tire tread depth guage. If not, I think a penny with Lincoln's head facing down towards the tread will do.

Thanks!

Found one of my tires had a nice little chunk missing and the low tire light keeps coming on. Decided 5 yr old tires are done so ordered a set of V12s in 215/40/18 to be installed tomorrow. Mount, balance, and alignment for $600 OTD.

Ok, new tires are on and I have to say, I'm so happy I got rid of those run flats! They ride like crap!!! The V12s are like how a good tire should be, quiet, grippy, and has a firm yet compliant ride! I would rank them about 1/2 to 1 notch below the PS2s on my M5.
