HVAC Panel Lights

I have a problem with my GP and I wonder if other GPs have the same problem because the dealer says it is normal for GPs. Please reply to let me know whether or not your GP has this problem.

When I dim down the instrument lights to the lowest level, the Heating, Ventilation, and A/C (HVAC) panel lights dim all the way to off (or very near off) but I can still see the lights on the Radio panel and the Switch panel at the lowest dimness (which is as expected) but the HVAC panel lights go out (not expected).

On my previous Mini the three panels (radio, HVAC, and switch) were all the same brightness as they were dimmed. It appears to me that in the GP the HVAC panel dims about twice as fast as the radio and switch panel lights which caused the HVAC panel light to not be visible at the lowest dimness.

If you have a chance please check this on your GP and let me know the results because I would like to discuss it again with the dealer. It is easy to see the difference of the brightness, at low dimness settings, in my car at night.

Again thanks for the tests and replys. My car is currently at the dealership for the thrid time in three weeks but it looks like they will not do anything about the HVAC lights. They just say it is normal, which it apprears to be. However, I think the dealership should discuss the problem with Mini to see if there has been some fix.
