DSC Programming

Is the DSC programmed more aggressively for the GP than JCW cars.
I believe the GP DSC is programmed much differently than my 2003 MSC (non JCW). I was just wondering if the DSC is programmed the same in the GP as it is for JCW cars.

I sure like the DSC programming in my GP much better than in the 2003 MCS. I always ran with the DSC off in the 2003 MCS but I can tolerate the DSC in the GP for normal/aggressive driving.

I think the DSC is different when you have a factory limited slip differential. If I recall, the LSD wasn't available in 2003, and it's stock in the GP. Not sure if the GP goes above and beyond that, although I doubt it.

So it is the LSD option that changes the DSC programming. That makes sense. Thanks for the replies.

My guess is it's not different programing but just more traction. The extra traction would mean DSC wouldn't need to retard power as often.

That said, I think DSC is WAY too intrusive in fist gear on my 2006 JCW W/LSD. It feels like an invisible hand is pulling the key out of my ignition when I pull out on a wet street.

bahawton, you're right in saying that the LSD provides more traction, but I'm pretty sure that they changed the DSC programming as well to account for the differences in wheel speed when the LSD is slipping. This is based on my reading of a MINI press release:

http://www.motoringfile.com/2004/12/..._differential/

I have an 06 MCS with DSC and LSD. I tried autocrossing once with DSC on, and it got in the way. I ran the Patriot course at VIR last weekend for the first time (1.1 mi super twisty), and I actually appreciated it with street tires.
