ya.. i cant afford the original.. plus they dont make oem in 17", not sure if i would be able to handle the ride over here in toronto with all our pot holes on 18". I just like the look and im sure their just as strong as the oems.. i could care less if their knockoffs cause i really like the style of the gp wheels.. their unique and they go well with the mini.. whats also good is that their 2 toned..and i get the girlfriends approval..lol.. anyhow.. has anyone seen these wheels on a astro black mini? i know they would look good on a jetblack mini.. but not sure about astro black cause it has a blue tint to it??

Thanks man! I'll do some AutoX but only when I'm done with the coming 3 stages in my mod plan: Suspension, Camshaft and brakes. I do not see any problem doing an AutoX with the GP wheels as they are desinged for good performance. I'm getting a used R50 15" wheels as a trade for my OEM 17" wheels . Everything is planned my dears

you get my point? wheels are personal things

No discouragement intended. Just refuting the idea that an OEM cast wheel is actually worth $350.00.

They weigh 19+ lbs each and were designed to be unique to the GP car. They were not "desi[gn]ed for good performance."

I dont wanna go into this over and over again. Do you deny the fact that them being 18"s, they are lighter than the lightest 17"s???

As far as OEM wheels the GP wheels are the lightest but here in the States unless you own a GP and have the VIN number to prove it, the dealers will not sell the wheels to you.

We aren't. It was only recently, in post 52 , that you said that "GP wheels...are desi[gn]ed for good performance."

Lightest OEM wheels in 17" or 18"? Irrelevant. That doesn't make them any lighter than the 19+ lbs each that they are--which certainly is not light in general. If you are going to get the wheels, that's great. It's the pretense that they are lightweight performance wheels that is laughable. Best to recognize them for what they are--basically run-of-the-mill cast wheels that look great on the car but were only sold with the GP.

loooooooooooooooool. I just noticed the "desi[gn]ed", being the fact it's a typeo, I'm really aware of how to write the word but that was because I was writing so fast.

Just wanted to note that here

Another thing to note is, our Mini dealer here in Saudi, will not entertain any warranty on the suspension or anything connected to the wheels if you are running aftermarket wheels, even OEM replicas. I know in the states there are aftermarket "Certified" wheel sizes and so, but this wont work here. So, this makes the GP wheels the best change for me. Right?

I think the GP's, OEM or replica, might look odd on an unlowered S.

If that is the case it would probably be best to keep the stock wheels shoed and in the garage so that you can put them on for trips to the dealer.

I know this thread is old but I thought everyone would want real GP wheels for a reasonable price. A buddy of mine ordered from them and it cost about 1500 bucks with shipping from the U.K...they were the real deal last I checked sooo.....
