Don't need PoP as each MINI VIN # is attached to the owner (s) - past and present - so even if you order with a VIN # it doesn't make you a GP owner.

I guess you can buy GP wheels if a GP owner wants to sell his/hers. A while back someone in the GP section was thinking of selling his. check it out.

FYI the cost of each wheel is about $400.00 before tax and yes these are the lighest wheels MINI offers but not the lighest in the market. I personally love them and there are easy to clean

I called Prestige Mini and they asked for a PoP .

I'll never buy used wheels, they'll be scratched and stuff.

This is the best part, I'm having hard times cleaning my current 17" stock 5 spoke wheels...

The VIN # should do .. but it's to ensure that only GP owner's can order parts for this unique MINI. ( BTW MORRISTOWN MINI is best for prices)

Try cleanning the grease with one of the little hot water steamer .. it melts the grease w/o much effort and won't ruin the wheels !!

I have a problem with them. They do not process international credit cards, they need fax authorization for orders on the phone and their attitude is not good. I love Prestige Mini staff. They all know me and hurry to help me over the phone.

There are a number of differences with these replicas, offset, the hub area is a different design than OEM, the lip is flat where on OEM it is rounded also factory uses a satin clear coat on the polished/silver area. Finally if you find some look on the back and it has the name of the company that make them for Mini, "Ronal"

Unless you have a discount w/o, MSRP is close to $400.00 - I know because I bought two additional wheels ( one as a spare and one - just in case) and I got a "special discount" from my dealership .. of course, we bought 6 MINIs in less than 5 years so the dealership knows me well !!

Do not you think those are more beautiful than the GPs??

Both have dark look and would add some evil and mystry look to the Mini. Do you agree? I think if I was able to get an original GP set, they would cost almost the same, around $2K.

They look like 10 other types of wheels out there. At least the GPs, even the knock-offs, are unique. For $2K you could get better wheels.

By the way, how is a 19.8 lb wheel heavy for 18-inches? A quick scan of 18s on Tire Rack, and nothing is as light. Heck, there are three styles of OEM 16s that are as heavy, and one that is just 0.2 lbs lighter. Must be the knee-jerk bigger is automatically worse bias on this website.
19 lbs is heavy when most people are tracking their cars with 10-12 lb wheels (mine are 12.4 I believe). 30-40 lbs is a LOT of rotating mass .

GP wheels are light for a factory wheel at just over 19 lbs. I think they are 19.4 lbs.

Thanks for the info man. How do they look with JCW lowered suspension? Do bigger wheels and lower suspension make hight difference compared to normal Cooper S??

hey found 2 sites within canada that carry the replica wheels.. the first site is cheaper.. i think i am going to go with 17" on a 07 astro black.. anyone know how that would look? Also does anyone know a work around to make the wheels fit on because I hear that the bolts are bigger on the r56 models??

The bolts on the R56 are the same as on the GP 14mm x 1.25 and 28mm long which is the factory bolt.

Being rare and OEM does not change the fact that they are cast. The same strength and weight can be obtained for less money. More money can at least buy semi-solid forged wheels. GP wheels are bling.

not everyone likes to buy wheels only for performance... there's a time and place for everything, if marwan is tracking his car on 18s then i'd say something ,but if he isn't then i'd say more power to him

its like someone putting chrome 20s on their RX8 or 350Z, maybe they neverdrive around the track or race around the road... they just want their homies respect... (btw, its not my normal talk, so please excuse me)

you get my point? wheels are personal things

Marwan, if you like those wheels, get them! ill bet unless its a mini enthusiast here most people wouldn't know the difference
