Halo lights

Hi everyone! I was looking for some advice/help. I am buying my boyfriend the halo lights for his GP and was wondering if there is a difference between the ones you can buy here in the states compared to the ones from out of the country that cost more but look the same?

Thanks so much!

I purchased mine from Mikey the Mini in the UK www.newministuff.com . I believe they are the same ones that MossMINI sells. I doubt there's really a difference. The only differences is the bulbs. I have the blue orasm bulbs which have a blue tint on the bulb but light up amber. You can also purchase the bulbs that have chrome on the bulb and light up amber.

Great. Thanks for your info. I just ordered the lights and the bulbs from Moss Mini. I guess it is ok to say this since my boyfriend now knows what all of his birthday gifts are as he saw my post and even replied.....lol

Again thanks. Next time I will try to be a little less obvious I guess!

Ha good point! Guess I was not thinking! Oh Well....lol. I like your wife's name. I never would have thought of that, but it would work for me too as I just graduated from nursing school. I also just moved to miami from a place not far from you in Morgantown, WV....you guys are in the MD/DC area right?

Sorry baby! I failed again! Well your lights should be here Saturday! I guess you can work on installing the engine damper until they get here. And the strut bar should be here by the end of the week. So much for birthday presents....ha...ENJOY!!!

Congrats on graduating. Yes, we are in the DC Metro area. I am the Secretary/Event Co-Coordinator and she is the VP/Event Co-Coordinator for DC Metro MINIs.

Mod Management

In response to the question (why did I change my mind on the halo lights) I think I simply decided that I need to curtail the amount of mods I'd like to do with the GP. I've already done plenty (camber plates, strut brace, sway bar, engine damper, coilovers, wheels, tires, heat shield, etc) and of course the car is a delight right out of the box.

The install is a straight forward swap. I didn't do it, but I watched as LordofTheFlies did it. Disconnect bulb wiring harness, Unscrew 2 screws for marker holder, Remove old thing, Replace with new halo markers, Rescrew 2 screws holding the markers in place, reattach wiring harness.

It is a lot easier to install these with the bumper off. Many have done it without taking the bumper off, but it's been said you must have some small hands to get down there.

Thanks for the compliment. As for the lights, I'm planning on doing the install this weekend. I'll post pics once I do. I did see someone that had the lights on a GP already though. Can't remember where or who it was.

Looks awesome. So you just had to order the regular halo lights from Moss? No adjustments on fitting bracket? How was the install? Did you have to remove the bumper?

BTW, your pictures look awesome.

I just want to make sure before I go and try to install halo's on mine.

Thanks for all the help!

Prestige mini installed them, they did take the spoiler off, but I believe there were no problems.

They had to take the bumper skin off, but that takes all of 5 minutes to do.
