Let me explain why the seller is asking that much for the GP. I don't know the seller but I grew up in the Philippines and know people who import cars to the Philippines.
Philippine law imposes outrageous duties (taxes) on vehicles imported to the country. The importer probably paid more than 50% of the value of the car for taxes alone. Add shipping cost and mark-up and you end up with a very expensive car.
The reason for the tax law is that the government wants to protect the local car manufacturing industry. Cars manufactured and sold in the Philippines is mandated to have at least 40% local content (locally manufactured parts). If everyone was allowed to import cars from other countries and sell to the local market, then you can just imagine the negative effect on the manufacturing industry.
There's a lot of car-buffs in the Philippines and I wont be surprised that the car will sell at that rate. Heck, some folks are willing to pay $50K for a US-spec Honda Pilot.
I still have 2 classic minis in Manila and we used to belong to the local mini club (classic). I hope that the new owner joins the MINI club in Manila so that we can get in touch with them through NAM (they have a dedicated thread here in NAM)
I am just glad that the missing GP is now accounted for. I hope the owner joins NAM soon.

71K+ is actually cheap for a MINI GP I know a fellow who just bought 2 MCS r56's one for 28K+ and the second 29K+ to be exported to brazil where he has them sold each @ $82,000.00 U$A dollars, Brazil charges 100% in taxes of the base price...
Very neat cars I must say. I drive a 350Z. My fiance has a VW passat and I am wanting her to get a Cooper S. I might just have to get a GP. :D
