dang the plot thickens. So far we have un-earthed a few things:

1) stock r56 engine is impressive but past stock the jury is not only still out but royally dumbfounded
2) the tri-tec powerplant isn't nearly as bad as I (maybe we) thought back in 2002
3) the jcw power plant produces more hp then the r56 engine but less tq. Overall producing a totally different driving experience.
4) Even though the new model is an update to the r53. It does not out-date or replace the r53. The r53 still has it's segment of the market and it's followers and it seems, at least for now. There are 4 choices of higher performance mini's available. r53, r53 jcw, r53 jcw gp, r56.

One thing is for sure... the gp is still the gp. It's a total boy racer package. Compare it to an r56 and you prob don't have any where near the fun. The engine performance and brake performance may be similar but the suspension and overall design of the gp is better.

Is it worth 10k? not sure.

So I tried to make a new dyno sheet with an R56 and R53 JCW on the same graph, but I couldn't find the JCW cars file on our dyno computer. I do have this chart in the meantime. Its a comparison of our TurboKompressor and a JCW car, obviously the JCW is the lower of the two graphs.
