Thankfully my husband understands and gets just as frustrated as me, but my friends... I just say... yes, I'm nuts, but isn't everyone crazy in their own little way?

Must be the location. I'm getting to know some of the owners in my "small town" so I can't relate.

How many have been on the cell phone?

Yes, yes. And to add to that (you really think I would just lmake a terse comment and bail? LOL! Ya dunt(tm) know me vewy well), I do not care if someone waves back. I will wave because I like to do it.

Ah,...hmmm,...My name is Skuzzy, and I are a Whine-o-holic.

I feel your pain...maybe 10% of the MINI drivers that I wave to actually wave back.

Im a pretty new MINI driver in NOVA. I figured out the wave thing right away. I used to have a Jeep so I understood and actually think its a really cool thing. I too have noticed that alot of other drivers arent so keen on the wave. I get really excited when someone actually waves back and I get out of control when someone else initiates it!!! My family thinks Im nuts too but MINI spotting and waving is all part of motoring right?? If I see you out there jac7100, I promise I will wave. I hope you wave back

i hope all you non-wavers are having as much fun with your mini's as i am with mine!

Wow! Come to SoCal. You get lots of them.

Here in Raleigh we wave or flash our lights at each other all the time - feel free to come on down for some southern hospitality!

Me too, I wave whenever I see one. But I don't care if I have a non-understanding passenger or not. I'll flash and wave. Did that with my Jeeps, Triumphs, MGs, Bikes, Chevelles. I guess I'm just a waving fool! But I am having fun.

Ahhh heck, all ya gotta do is stop and ask them to get out of the car. Simple. See?

Shoot, I can hardly wait to see how low under the seat my Wife will crawl when I go berserk waving at my first Mini, from MY Mini (yeah, I know. but it is happening some time). Or better yet,..my mother-in-law. Oh yeah,..that will be a day that lives in infamy.

I don't really wave much just because I am not much of a waver. MiniNurse, on the other hand, waves all of the time. Heck, she has gotten non-MINIs to wave. I don't know, I guess it is a "girl" thing since I am 6'1 and no one wants to acknowledge a big guy waving at them like I am a serial killer or something.

When you wave no one knows anyway, except when your windows are down. Crazy dark tint!

That being said, I say we start a campaign to post signs at each dealership and ask the local MA's to educate these new MINI owners about the wave policy. Pretty soon, I'm gonna start posting a big sign on my MINI that says REAL MINI OWNERS WAVE with the middle finger salute.
Im with you. I think we ought to start up the waving guild. You think Global will incorporate the wave policy into their sales schtick?

We have a ton in Atlanta and I usually blink my lights rather than wave...... I always pull up at a light and say something nice to the driver regardless of sex...... I find most people (Mini drivers) do not know about NAM and are not into the "hobby" of the car.... please keep waving...... keep the positive energy flowing regardless.

We can't blink lights around here. If a policeman happens to be nearby, you can get a ticket for it. It used to be used to warn other drivers about a radar trap in their path.

It still is around here but if there is no trap the cops have more important things to do and i get to keep both hands on my phone/pda/drink and lunch while I get check my work from my case in the back seat (JK) ....on the wheel

It usually strikes shear fear in the face of female MINI drivers when I wave from my Suburban. I seemed to frighten a whole string of them the other day when they were on a MINI poker run in Norfolk and I wasn't in my MINI. I have used the wave for the better part of 45 years, motorcycle, Corvette, Porsche, Miata and now MINI. Still going to wave anyhow.
