I'm Done Wavin'
I try to wave whenever I can (if I think the other MINI owner can see me looking at them)... but the hardest part is when I have a non-understanding passenger with me... if they see me waving, they ask what the heck I'm doing. If the other MINI doesn't wave back, it can be really embarrassing because it gives the passenger license to poke fun!

i know what you mean, my wife and my gf make fun of me when i don't get the wave-back...thankfully not at the same time
Course, it wil be more fun once I GET MY MINI!!!! Oops,...exceeded my whine limits today. Dang, it is hard.
Ah,...hmmm,...My name is Skuzzy, and I are a Whine-o-holic.
I always wave. Sometimes the look on their face is priceless.
Dunna know, guess they're thinking "old fool"?
Im a pretty new MINI driver in NOVA. I figured out the wave thing right away. I used to have a Jeep so I understood and actually think its a really cool thing. I too have noticed that alot of other drivers arent so keen on the wave. I get really excited when someone actually waves back and I get out of control
when someone else initiates it!!! My family thinks Im nuts too but MINI spotting and waving is all part of motoring right?? If I see you out there jac7100, I promise I will wave. I hope you wave back

well i've had my pepper white MCSc for 8 months now and i've enjoyed seeing all you other mini's out there motoring around DC and northern VA!
whenever i see one of you out there i always give a wave. i have yet to get a wave back or have another mini driver wave to me.
so i'm gonna save my strength for the curvy roads and just enjoy my motoring. gotta say i thought there would be a more sense of community out there on the road...oh well.
i hope all you non-wavers are having as much fun with your mini's as i am with mine!

Wow! Come to SoCal. You get lots of them.

Shoot, I can hardly wait to see how low under the seat my Wife will crawl when I go berserk waving at my first Mini, from MY Mini (yeah, I know. but it is happening some time). Or better yet,..my mother-in-law. Oh yeah,..that will be a day that lives in infamy.
Hey! How did you know I am an old fool????
I don't really wave much just because I am not much of a waver. MiniNurse, on the other hand, waves all of the time. Heck, she has gotten non-MINIs to wave.
I don't know, I guess it is a "girl" thing since I am 6'1 and no one wants to acknowledge a big guy waving at them like I am a serial killer or something.

For the record i wave when i see other Minis, however consider the following,45 million americans don't have health insurance,35 million live below the poverty line, the war in Iraq, you get the picture. So if i don't get waved at i just continue to motor and enjoy the car.Just my 1 cent worth.Q
I've developed a new theory. I too am a disgruntled waver who gets burned 75% of the time.
I have decided, though, since I live and work next to my local dealership, the darned MINI owners I come across on a daily basis that DON'T wave just don't know any better and it's up to the dealership to educate them. That being said, I say we start a campaign to post signs at each dealership and ask the local MA's to educate these new MINI owners about the wave policy. Pretty soon, I'm gonna start posting a big sign on my MINI that says REAL MINI OWNERS WAVE with the middle finger salute.

Im with you. I think we ought to start up the waving guild. You think Global will incorporate the wave policy into their sales schtick?
We have a ton in Atlanta and I usually blink my lights rather than wave...... I always pull up at a light and say something nice to the driver regardless of sex...... I find most people (Mini drivers) do not know about NAM and are not into the "hobby" of the car.... please keep waving...... keep the positive energy flowing regardless.
Only when I'm in my other car....I forget and look like a loon!
It still is around here but if there is no trap the cops have more important things to do and i get to keep both hands on my phone/pda/drink and lunch while I get check my work from my case in the back seat (JK) ....on the wheel
It usually strikes shear fear in the face of female MINI drivers when I wave from my Suburban. I seemed to frighten a whole string of them the other day when they were on a MINI poker run in Norfolk and I wasn't in my MINI. I have used the wave for the better part of 45 years, motorcycle, Corvette, Porsche, Miata and now MINI. Still going to wave anyhow.
