Interesting study.
If you want to find out the actual reality of using a forum for marketing purposes, you should look up "heather" as she campaigns for "DP" or "Detailers Paradise" on the detailing forum. that forum is a very tight group
Same freaks post there all the time and conversation has dwindled as it seems everyone is being persuaded to use one line of products and use only one set of methods. which sux ***.

BUT YA GOTTA HAVE FRIENDS!!!

Tell me about your R56. An MC? That's what I saw the most of when I visited the UK a few years ago. Insurance rates too high for the MCS.
it's my second MCS. had my first one for 3 years. put my deposit on the R56 in November 2005 to make sure i avoided the waiting lists!
didnt care about the insurance costs. £990 for the year. ($1900 ??? not too sure on the conversion rate )my new little girl is dark silver with black roof and black bonnet stripes. trying to save towards the aero kit now and then the front spots if they add to the look. all i need for the time being is my R56 owners club badge (hint hint COOPERation
)i'm not a big tech head so the exterior cosmetics are about as much as i'll do to her. the wonder of tinternet! got a NAM mate in Hawaii!
yeah baby...shake an bake

Fabulous. Great to hear from you. Your plan sounds perfect.
When I was in London I went to a few MINI dealerships including Park Lane.
They had more "cherished" MINIs than new ones on display. They weren't cheap!
But they were beautiful.
Enjoy the R56. You only live once.

Another successful contact made across the internet.
The world is now a little bit smaller.
Now go out and meet at the next MINI Dragon event May 2008!
finished the survey.
Hope I'm not too late to be of help. This survey provided a moment to reflect upon the nature of my interaction within the NAM community. I've been a "lurker" since 2002 when I began my year-long wait for a '03 MCS production number. It wasn't until June 2006, upon delivery of my second MINI, that I actually decided to "give back" to the community and be an active member. I've received great information and good perspective on these cars, their components/mods, etc. I felt it was only appropriate share any insight I might have with the topic dujour. However, my experience with giving back to the community, especially in the first 50 or so posts, was luke warm at best. It was difficult to not think of NAM as a pretty abrasive, cold, and flakey place full of smarta$$ know-it-alls, etc. It's interesting that I didn't feel that way before making my first posts. Granted, I've only made about 350 posts, so I'm not exactly forum Vet, even though I've been reading this one for 5 years. I'm not sure if my experience is specific to NAM, or just the typical dynamics of virtual communities. I definitely think twice before offering help, advice, or other forms of "giving back to the community" these days.

Done
It was painless.
There's only one thing I could possibly consider a contribution to this community that benifits others, but maybe it's just in my own mind.
I would have asked: if NAM was down, would the world end?
