MINI rentals

I travel a decent amount and I am seriously concidering an MCS. I would love to rent one so I could spend a whole day with it-without a salesman. I have seen minis for rent in Vegas and LA but does anyone know of any other cities that I could find a rental Mini-especially a MCS?

It looks like I'll be in San Francisco in about two weeks and in LA after that.

I've never really looked, but LA is the only city i've seen them for rent. You can also rent quite a few other different exotic cars here like ferrari's and lambo's. Why not just test drive the car?

Well, its not all day, but many dealerships will let you take the MINI out for a spin without your MA (Motoring Advisor {Salesman}) with you.

They do rent MINIs in Las Vegas. We made a reservation with Dream Car Rentals in Vegas for AMVIV but it was going to cost approx $700 for four days ($129 per day plus tax plus mileage plus additional driver, etc, etc) so we cancelled.

We also spoke to someone who is renting MINI's in Sacremento?? I think for approx $500 for a week. I will go through all my info and see if I can find the details.

Test drives are fine but they are often limited in time which is understandible as I wouldn't want someone just driving around a car off my lot either. Sometimes you can get a better feel for a car when you drive it in traffic,at night, etc and since I am often in rentals it would be fun to rent one and take an extended test drive of sorts at the same time. The places I have found are pretty pricey so this might not work.

SF does have a place that rents them...google it and you'll find it.

Check out this other thread. I believe that Flexcar has many locations and should be able to provide what you need.

We'll be visiting the lovely state of California the end of May, beginning of June and were planning on taking the PCH from San Fran to LA. We'd like to find a reasonable MINI Cabrio to rent for the road trip, but have only found Specialty Rentals... and they seem pretty darn pricey. I checked out Flexcar.com and #1, their website is slow as mollasses on my computer... I'm sure it's my computer at work, but AHHHHHH!!!! #2, maybe I'm just challenged today, but I can't figure out how to search by make of the car other than "convertible".

Regardless, anybody had any luck finding MINI rentals in San Francisco?

Do you have Zipcars in your area? They rent MINIs.
