Regarding Local Shops
Regarding Local Shops
Hi guys,
Long time reader of NAM and rather short poster as you can see. I've searched extensively for an answer to my question but was unable to find one. I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable shop or person who could install a new sc pulley on my '05 MCS. I live in Jensen Beach, FL, about two hours south of Orlando, but really I'm willing to drive more than a few hours if need be. I contacted Foreign Affairs Motorsports in West Palm Beach and carefully explained what I wanted via email. Somehow, for the same Alta pulley I see on the Alta site they wanted to charge me $40.00 more, and when I said as much in my response I didn't receive a response back (it's been 10 days now). I also attempted to contact Wallis Motorsport, as I believe it's also based in Florida but with no luck as of yet. Thanks for your help guys!

I don't suppose you want to drive 13 hours for a pulley, do you? Although I have had a few people stop in from your area for an install. Too bad you didn't ask this 2 weeks ago, I just spent 4 days in Sarasota.
Stupid question, but have you been able to find a club locally? Maybe some decent DIY guys looking to do a mod party? Or will you be at the Dragon?

There's a good chance I'll be up for the Dragon, and my hometown is in South Carolina, which I'm periodically in around holidays and such. So 13 hours would really be more like 5 from Columbia I believe. I'm actually heading up around April 5th to the 10th.
All shops have a markup on parts, from 15-50%, it's how we make a living. Why don't you ask them if you can bring your own, and order it. I install parts purchased by the customer all the time, and really I don't mind, becuase i don't have to warranty parts, only craftsmanship
. The last poster is corrrect in telling you to check the local clubs, there's a lot of d.i.y. with more than one under their belt..good luck
