I just saw these over on Autoblog (in relation to the SMART Fortwo) and it struck a chord. I have been wondering for some time why we haven't seen more interesting, stylish, and innovative towable ideas for our MINIs - and, for that matter, other small cars? You see people with the "teardrops" and the miniature utility trailers, but they seem so simple and limited. Where's the real innovation? Maybe at DCX? ...I'm no engineer, but maybe I've stumbled on a new calling?

 

I LOVE the camp trailer concept...

 

Me too! What I'd REALLY love though, is if you could design the base trailer for utility purposes and then be able purchase the add-on features - like the camper - that extend the utility of the base trailer. Did I make any sense with that?

 

I'd also be very interested in the camp trailer. Last summer, we looked at several other possibilities, such as the teardrops and the A-Liner, but none of them seem to be quite what we are looking for.

That concept drawing is a lot more like what we have in mind.
