Google Earth your MINI

Ok, this could turn into some fun.
Just looked up my address on Google Earth and what do I see ... a satellite image capture with my MC in front of the house in Forest Hills, NY. The CR with the White Roof really does stand out

Let's see if you can find yours ...

Google is years behind the times in my neighborhood since it is missing landscaping improvements done by the previous owner several years ago. . .

But I was able to find a friend's MINI parked in his driveway. . . .

I must always be out motoring when the satellite takes a pic of my house.

Oh why not... Here's a pic of the Batmini from space, using MSN Virtual Earth.

Google Earth is such a great tool. Alas my MINI was in the garage (or I was out motoring), but it does have a good shot of my old Bronco that I had at the time. Still miss that darn truck.

On a side note. If you get a chance, try using Goolge Earth to look up the Cowley plant in Oxford. There are a ton of MINIs parked next to the train track. Some might be able to find their MINIs there (but I doubt it).

Yeah Google earth doesn't update Alabama too frequently. The image still shows the seven 60' pine trees that I had cut down in my yard 4 years ago so I know the Mini's not there Yahoo satellite at least shows my trees cut down but Yahoo doesn't do close zooms.

Just happened to be out of the garage..

the garage door is open, too! The shed is no longer back there. This must have been a little less than a year ago.

Windows Live

If you havn't tried it already, try the maps feature at Microsoft Live. They have a 3d map that is about 1 year more current than Google Earth. Switch back to the 2d mode and you have maps that look like Google Earth.

Did you change the angle? That shot was looking north. You can change to N, S, E, and W. Three angles had the Mini, and 1 angle had my F150 hidden behind a tree.

I go to the MS map live thing, and there's no sat imagry. Just something like a MapQuest map. No options.
