The official Indi Blue owners thread
Add me in as I never found this thread till now, my bad.
Picked mine IB/W MCS up in November 2002. What a sweet trip it's been.

AKIndiMini,
Yep, you have to commit to the stripe pattern of choice in the long run. At least I'm assuming so, I haven't had mine removed since installed on delivery. I'll be interested to see if there is significant fading of the Indiblue body paint compared to the striped area when I get the stripes replaced to deal with the small pits of 52k miles on the hood's striped nose ... sometime relatively soon.
There you go, an ultraviolet transparent (I'm naively assuming ultraviolet light does the damage to the paint), but visibly colored stripe material! Hehehe, maybe in a couple of decades ... I'm sure the decal professionals would love that type of material at a reasonable cost.

I changed stripes @50K
I pulled the white factory hood stripes off because the little black lines were wore off and looked terrible. I decided to put viper stripes on and had to buff the hood with a power buffer to blend in the finish from like new, under the stripe to weathered and tiny chips where the blue was exposed. But really there wasn't much paint left exposed that was under the original stripe after the viper stripes were installed.
I bought my MCS used, so I'm not 100% sure if the stripes on it were factory-applied. The paperwork that came w/ the car seem to indicate a factory installation though... The black edges are starting to wear out, and the white part is starting to look a little spotty. I've heard that MINI will replace them under warranty if they were factory-applied. If I can't get them warrantied, and the fading isn't too terrible after buffing, I think I'll go w/ the Viper stripes. Looks awesome!

You know, everytime I see an IB R50 without the hood bulge/scoop of the R53 ... damn that looks nice. Really sets off the car with that clean front of the R50, especially so in IB. Nice pic, nice car.
Hello all! picked up my 04 IB MCS almost 2weeks ago and have been loving every minute of it! Already installed the BMW blue plug wires and working on some other stuff (have to get the boss, err wife to release the funding for "options" on the new toy, hehehe). May try to make the Dragon run in Nov, so I might meet some of yaz there! tc all !

That's more than 1 car for each mile! Check out TailoftheDragon.com for more info on that. The Dragon is ALOT of fun, just maybe not as much at 25mph.
Hello!!
New NAM member here and I would love to introduce my '03 IB/W MC Miss. MINI Mouse!
I have had my MINI for over a year now and I love her! Been modding her like crazy over the past 8 months or so.
I am an active member in my local club, but decided to join in here as well!

This has got to be my favorite Indie justa-justa Cooper to date. Its got a nice retro feel. Nice stripes and # (on side). Where did you get them? Im torn between that stripe or the trad white bonnet stripe w/ black pin stripes.
Heres Mine! I want the same driving lights and some sort of stripe that has a classic feel. I haven't seen another indie blue roof, just white / black.
