Bought a remanufactured w11 head. #4 piston had all 4 valves making contact with the piston after 40 miles it started a new light rattle sound I've never heard come from this car. Kept it under 65mph the entire time as I've done with any rebuilds I've done. Made about 5 miles from home after almost 80 miles the day of first long drive. Lost compression car shut off and I heard metal fall clinking off other metal. #4 piston was completely destroyed. Cracked brittle and broken completely off the piston rods and fist pin. I kinda felt defeated when I pulled the head off and saw this. But as usual buying something from Ebay did not save me any money. In fact this will definitely cost more time and money. Note to self stay the F away from ebay parts. Piston was pretty well shattered from the fist pin.
That is a very sad and aggravating story to hear.
Although nothing is "cheap" on these cars these days - you most certainly get what you pay for. While eBay being "a roll of the dice"; it is discouraging to experience the degrading quality of once trusted brands. If there is such a thing as "quality control" these days, it's most likely under the direction and overseen by the accountants.
Again, sorry to hear about your misfortune.
