Recurring HORN Issue.

About 2 months ago, I noticed that the silver on the trim ring in the middle of my steering wheel was peeling. I asked my SA if it could be replaced under Warranty. I was told yes, but it also meant replacing the Airbag, so I would have to leave it and take a loaner. It was done in one day.

About a month later someone was about to pull out in front of me from a side street and I blew the horn, but there was no sound. Silence. I pressed it a few more times. Nothing.

A few minutes later while driving on the highway, I tried it again and it worked. This went on for several days until it stopped working again.

I brought it in again, thinking there could be a defect in the part they replaced, but the tech determined that it was the horn itself, and replaced it. About 2 weeks went by. I attempted to used the horn again and it sounded like it was wrapped in a pillow. I called my SA who said "Well, it was raining hard, try it again a few hours after the rain stops" Which indicates to me that there is another problem.

I bring it in AGAIN, they replace the horn AGAIN.

A few days later, I decided to test it and it sounded completely wrong. "Hoarse" and out of tune.

I have ANOTHER appointment tomorrow with a loaner.

Am I wrong in thinking that this is all due to the original part replacement and there could be an issue with the contacts/switch in the steering wheel ??

It's beyond ridiculous at this point.

Bet its the actual horns in the bumper. They could have a bad contact or water got in them on a heavy ran?

They replaced it for the THIRD time. None of them sound the same as my original horn. And mine is a single horn. Apparently, that was the case with the beginning of the 2022 S Hardtop production run.
