Hit 150,000 on my Mini today during a road trip. Pretty cool.
Got it with 114k in 2018 and it was rough(not a ton better now lol). But slowly I’ve been replacing things here and there to extend its life. Curious what the most people have gotten from these?
Mine is a base with the N16. It gets oil changes every 5k and runs on 91 only now. After tons of parts store fuel injector cleaners and seafoam among replacing lots of little things it runs great.
I just changed the water pump, crossover pipe and thermostat housing all oem and filled it up with the blue stuff. Also changed the main serpentine belt while down there.
My steering wheel sometimes has a slight shake, thinking it may be ball joints? Or maybe my wheels/tires need to be rebalanced.
Also wondering if anyone has any suggestions on preventative maintenance since I just hit 150k?
I’ve been wanting to drop the trans pan and change the filter and fluid.
I need to do brakes soon, never done them since I’ve gotten it. But would like to maybe get S calipers someone took off for JCW or Wilwood.
Here’s what’s been replaced that wasn’t mentioned.
plugs
coils
valve cover gaskets
airfilter
cabin filter
battery
Shocks
rear wiper
I have a 2012 N18 Cooper S Clubman with 186,000+ miles on it. Stage 2 tune. Still runs like a champ. 5000 mile oil changes, and the occasional Italian tune-up runs. Still original timing chain, never had a carbon blast in the intake, original turbo, too. I've been pretty fortunate with my car.
