Battery choices

Does anyone have any input on which brand agm battery group size 48 or h6 would be the best to buy. I don't have a mini dealer near me and frankly probably cannot afford the OEM replacement. My options are Napa-legend, Autozone-Duralast, Rockauto-Bosch, Walmart-Optima, Advanced auto-Diehard, all of these are $300 or I have a local batterymart for $200.

If you have a gen 1 MINI no real need to spend the money on AGM. Best price on batteries I've found has been at Costco if you have them around and are a member.

There was a post from a member (Onizukachan) that bought an AGM battery (H5) recently from Walmart for $169.

You've posted in the R56 and R60 sections, so I am assuming you have a 2ng gen car?

I purchased a NAPA AGM battery because it was in stock and local.

Yes, it's an r60. Countryman S 2014. I went ahead with the legend agm from Napa since it was 25% off today. I've heard some people say I need a memory saver hooked up when I transfer batteries. Is this really needed? I don't care about loosing my radio settings but will it mess with other computer components?

Depending on where you live and inspection requirements, disconnecting the battery will require a BMW "drive cycle" to remove "flags" so you can pass. If you keep 12v on the system while exchanging the old battery, you won't create any "flags". If you're a few weeks away from inspection, it's not worth the trouble because normal driving will erase the "flags". BTW, good choice on the NAPA battery. They're manufactured by East Penn and excellent quality.

Thank you for the information, I'm about 6 months from inspection, so I will be good!
