I have a 17' CM and was trying to install a new digital kombi, but while in the middle of the process. My computer gave me the blue screen of death.

I was in the middle of adding Kombi to the ECU tree cause I guess my CM is that old and KOMBI wasn't showing up the ECU tree. That's when in the middle of coding Windows gave me the blue screen of death and rebooted. Now I can't even get the gateway to register that the cable is connected. I get and an error connection and no FA is loaded. I reinstalled the old cluster and of course it's a christmas tree now.

I have a call into Bimmertech to see if they can help me, or can anyone here recommend someone that could fix it remotely?

So I managed to get back into the E-sys by disabling VPN. Don't know how windows turned that on for my ethernet but it did. I restored back to default saved file and the old cluster works just as before and all the warning lights are gone, but now I don't have a center screen. I have Bimmertech's MMI Prime installed so now I have to uninstall that to see what's up.

Anyone know how to properly install the KOMBI tree from the ECU reading if it isn't there?

 

Got my screen back, forgot I had swapped to a 8.8" so I had to recode for that, now it works again.

I've found the posts regarding adding the KOMBI tree in the ECU, but it looks all foreign to me. Unless it's written in step-by-step instructions on how to add the tree, I'm completely lost.
I've reached out to Ndal & Empo but nothing yet.

I'm in no rush, so I'm just waiting patiently.
