Harman/Kardon Availability (or lack thereof).....

I was just informed by my MA that the H/K Audio system is currently unavailable to order on all cars @ any trim level.

"As I type this the Harman/Kardon is not available on any car at any trim level, and we do not have a date yet on when it will be available."

Even though the H/K isn't the most amazing audio system, it's a far cry from the base system IMO. I'm in no hurry to order my '24 JCW F56, so I can definitely wait it out, but I was hoping to get my car ordered in the next few days :(

Has anyone else ran into this recently?

Motoring advisor? I’m guessing that’s a MINI thing?

More than likely.....that's what they refer to themselves as. At least that's what it says on their business cards.

Yeah our MA said it's been really hit or miss lately. Hopefully they'll have it figured out in a few months because we want to order a Clubman before they stop making them.

I could upgrade the stereo myself I guess, but the HK system is pretty good for the price (and the fact I don't have to install it).

Same mindset......especially since the H/K system is a standard feature on the F56 JCW

@chrunck Has there been official word from MINI that the clubman is being discontinued or is it another rumor? I have yet to find something official.

Nothing official, but Gabe at Motoringfile has someone on the inside that feeds him all the latest info. My MA said they see things on Motoringfile long before they hear anything official from corporate. The dealers are kept in the dark unfortunately.

okay....so same story I've read....just curious if MINI has said anything yet. I do think it's odd that they have a four door hardtop, a clubman, and a countryman. The differences between each model are there, but not huge, so....

Wife and I were Sunday shopping a few days ago, and we saw several "Iconic" packages with the H/K delete credit listed.

The configurator for the 2024 MINI Clubman is up and running for those that were asking about the Clubman being discontinued.

Just drove a 2023 Clubman with it. I guess shop around for a super low mileage 2023 with H/K. Only other option is to get the non H/K and upgrade the system yourself.

Thanks for the heads up. We'll have to sit down with the sales manager and figure out ground truth, because the options are weird.

For example, you can't get the JCW seats in Iconic, only the lower trims. And you can only get HK in Iconic. I'm not interested in paying an extra $6k for the HK sound system.

I'm also wondering if moon roof delete is still an option. It was last time we ordered, but I've seen a few posts on here that they don't allow that anymore. Mandatory moon roof might be a deal breaker.

I miss the old days of MINI where they allowed full customization of your order. These forced packages are the pits.

I can confirm that my current build will not have the HK audio. I'm planning on the BavSound speaker upgrade and some sound deadening material behind them to get actual tweeters in the door speakers.
Kevin.

I’ve noticed that sometimes all the options aren’t immediately available on the configurator for whatever reason. I’ve been using it for years to spec out my MINI’s, on my fourth and getting ready to build my fifth MINI which I’m thinking will be a clubman. I say give it some time and eventually more options may be available on it.

@chrunck Just out of curiosity, why is a moonroof a deal breaker?

It makes the cabin hotter and serves no purpose except to add weight where you don't want it (and adds a potential place for leaks). My 2003 R53 had one and I hated it.

Then you would have absolutely hated the ancient Gen1 days of the MINI, when you couldn't order one at all ...

... I understand not wanting the moonroof, though. Another disadvantage of them; the headroom they take up (I'm 6-4). I've only had one on four cars ... two of which were MINIs. The MINI one is superb. I don't mind my JCW having one because it's one of the few 2-door cars sold that I can fit in with one. It's all relative.

BTW: H/K in a JCW is ... meh. Average. These days, upgraded audio is rarely worth the price in a new car except as it affects resale value.

We went to the dealer on Saturday to attempt to order a Clubman JCW, and HK was available but only on the Iconic trim. But upgrading to that trim level meant we couldn't select the JCW seats, so we're waiting to see what our SA hears back from corporate. And the SA couldn't delete the moon roof either, so we're also waiting for an answer on that.

At this point we may just keep our 2019. There are too many limitations on options right now, and it's silly that we can't get exactly what we want on a $50k MINI (never thought I'd pay $50k for a MINI, but that's another topic).

Weird that they can do certain things, but will only do them in combination with others.

And 50k? I'm with you....wow

We're going to think about it some more, but I think overall it's a no go. We can get the seats we want or the upgraded sound or the moon roof delete, but only one of those things. And the moon roof delete means no heated seats, which is a non-starter.

According to our SA, the limitation is due to wiring harnesses. They can only produce so many, so they picked the most popular configurations and are sticking to the options supported. Makes sense but it's still irritating.

I may look into retrofitting the digital display and maybe the newer grille if the parts aren't crazy expensive.

I placed an order for my 24 Mini on May 2 I was told it's no longer part of a package I had to pay $600 for it. My ETA on production is June 4 I hope it will come with the car.
