03 MCS question about 4way coolant connector

My 4 way connector started leaking and I was able to find a brass replacement . Is there any reason not to use brass rather than the stock plastic one

I have no experience with this connector, myself.
However, I have read quite a few contributors here on NAM highly recommend replacing/upgrading the plastic water connector(s) with OEM equivalent or aftermarket brass.
You may want to reach out to ECS Tuning. I think they may sell the brass replacement or can at least advise.

Thanks . I was concerned that the brass might react with the coolant .

I can't imagine it would. Many users run brass bleeder screws

Well I couldn't find the post/thread that I've seen before with mention of brass replacement other than this comment by @ECSTuning :

I measure both the original and the brass one and they were exact . I'm not sure why it leaked , maybe the old clamps stretched when I removed them . Only one hose leaked

Ok, but the 3/4th size is the one you got?

A little food for thought; what type of clamps are we talking about here? Are they the stock spring- style clamps that need to be squeezed with channel locks to remove? If so, in my experiences, IF the clamp is not seated to fit the original silhouetted shape indented into the hose itself, coolant WILL find a path in which to leak from the hose. Worm gear clamps will not tighten down enough without causing micro tears in the hose material itself. Crimp-style ear clamps are suitable, but 9/10 times, as long as the original spring clamps are seated in their original indent, they should seal themselves just fine.

Thank you so much for that ! I didn't orient them correctly. I'm sure that's why they leaked .
