Super charger or water pump failing?

Recently a noise was coming from front of the engine bay, I thought it was either the timing chain tensioner or the super charger, when I touched the supercharger I can feel the vibration matching the noise coming from there, my car has 113k miles, I changed the super charger oil at 97k. But I didn't check the gears at the time.
Anyways I pulled it off and pulled the water pump off, and there's a red dry powder where the water pump meshes with the charger, it is pretty stiff but smooth still. Should it spin easier? Or freely? also took off the plate and there was still oil in the gear compartment and it looked clean and the gears also looked great, no bearing slop on any gears. So I'm at a loss if the water pump bearing started going out or was it actually starting to leak through the gear bearing? These are pics of the water pump to super charger mesh, it's the only part that actually had the brown powder or dry residue.

Also replaced water pump at 97k and it was a GRAF
