2005 sputtering
Could be a number of things.
The simplest (in my experience) is fuel starvation. When was the last time the fuel filter had been changed....If ever.
A mechanic (someone mechanically inclined), can check the pressure at the injector rail. (I believe it should be within the 50 - 60psi range (?))
Another fuel related issue could be a failing fuel pump.
I can think of other possibilities that maybe cause, i.e: like a dirty air filter...(from my own experience), but I will let the more seasoned MINI experts chime in in hopes they can assist you figure this out.
