I am not a mechanic. I don't have deep pockets.
I've had a couple of OBDII fault scanners. I gave one away to a neighbor and kept my Creator 110+. It's a nice little compact unit, but it is almost unbearably slow and doesn't always clear the faults within it's memory..
Does anyone have or have used the:
Foxwell keeps "upgrading" their scanner models but unsure whether functionality is all that different. The NT301 you show is their most budget oriented model @ $66 MSRP which doesn't seem comes with compatible BMW/MINI software already loaded? If not, likely will only provides most basic diagnostic information. I bought their NT510 model, which now seems superseded by the NT530. In any case, the older model is still available on Amazon at $159 after $30 instant coupon applied. I haven't needed to use mine yet (no codes), so only basic familiarization with functions and display so far. I was willing to pay additional for the included preloaded software.
Thanks @MCS4FUN - That looks like the best choice.
I bought the Creator C110+ for the very reason = BMW / Mini specific. Although it does have Mini specific diagnostic menu and seems to work - I'm kind of thinking the one I got is a bootleg/knock off. Hence it is branded as 'BM code scanner' (not BMW). I have no dash or cel lights illuminated, after repair, but the scanner continues to show the faults exist even after repairing and/or erasing the faults. I might be better off getting that NT510 OBDII .
