2012 preowned countryman - change oil?

Just picked up an immaculate mini cooper countryman, 2012, under 50k miles, and looks new...driven by 75yr old man, all services done at mini dealer and I bought (overpaid lol) from a mini dealer.
I am sure they changed the oil upon receiving the car, but, would you just say screw it and change the oil just to be safe. I checked the level and its spot on, oil doesnt look bad at all on a white paper towel, looked inside the case (oil cap) and looks lubed and shiny, no deposits, etc...
I feel like I wrote this in the forum, but couldnt find it anywhere haha.

Thoughts?

How many mile son the engine? If the level looks good, I might wait until the next multiple of 5k miles on the odometer. (45k, 50k, 55k, etc..) Then, change the oil every 5k miles, since its a nice round number to remember.

+1 Also, ask around for the location of a highly regarded German/MINI independent shop and make him your best friend.

Absolutely.
I was recommended a place about 20 miles away, so been looking, this place seems to be a mini specialist with good reviews, so might have them do something basic and go from there haha, maybe have them do an oil change.

Cheers all.

Good deal. The great thing about that is he will become familiar with your machine and help you stay pro-active on service and maintenance. My guy is about 40 miles. My good buddy and I both engage his services were we meet of a morning then off for coffee and a donut. About 11:00 it's off to a local micro brewery for 'coffee and donuts' 2.0.
