Jack Points

I have not yet received the manuals for my 2009 Mini Clubman. Where are the best jack points for each corner. Also is there a spot I can lift the front / rear at once. The manual is in the mail and I want to get a better look under the car. I have a 3 ton floor jack so it should be more than enough for this car.

if you look under the car you should see Jack pads, this is where your want you Jack stands. If you look just pass the plastic you should see what looks like a box frame, this is where I place a piece of 2x4 and Jack the car up from. If you don’t have a low profile Jack, I don’t, use the mini jack on your rear jack pad and raise the car up enough to get the 3ton with 2x4 underneath on the front. Then lift that side up and place on Jack stands, rinse and repeat other side.

Thanks. That is what I suspected but with unibody cars I like to make sure first. My Mazda has a spot that looks like those jack pads when looking underneath but they are just stamped places in the floor. I have a rubber pad that mounts on my jack shoe. It works vary well at protecting the car and it takes less space than the wood. Purchased it on Amazon.

Here's an old thread that shows a how to. Scroll down to the bottom. There's a BlimeyCabrio reference made but his links are no longer active, I got a 404 response from them.

I just use a 4 foot long 2 X 4 which leaves room to set in jack stands if you want to get all four off the deck.

I too have used a 2x4 in between the jack pads, but after visiting a mini owner of 15 years and seeing how quickly he knocked it out like my first post, I was hooked, and I had the scrap 2x4 pieces just laying around, and it much easier just just toss the 1ft scrap section I use now, in the boot. A low profile jack isn't necessary but does make life easier on the mini.
