Ecs tuning

Just wanted to start a discussion on ECS TUNING. I’m sure we all use them but lately I’ve had a lot of trouble with them.
I ordered some fog lights for my R60 and received a set for an R56/R57.
move tried for over a week to contact them, by phone, by email, by chat, and on this forum. And yet no response.
anyone else have a suggestion??

I've always had good success with them and their services...

I know there is a principle in this whole thing, but you could make what you received work. The housings are actually the same, its the mounting brackets that are different.

The mounting and bracket are the same, it’s the plug that isn’t. I tried making it work with no luck.
I’ve always used them for my countryman, Im just having zero luck contacting someone to return them without having to pay for returning them.
it’s not my mistake, so I shouldn't have to pay to deliver them back.
🤷🏻‍♂️

RMAs have free return shipping.

I would suggest you join the "Why I Hate ECS Tuning" group on Facebook. It's the *only* surefire way to get a rep right now. The company is slammed with requests and apparently can't keep CS employees either (based on their hiring site and the fact that their customer service leader lasted a whopping 10 days before bailing just recently). Deven Legg is about the only person who seems to be able to help people.

RMA?
whats that?
i just joined, pending approval.
I tried doing the return myself but they wanted me to pay for the shipping return, so that’s why I’ve been trying to contact them.
mom sure with the way the “virus” is right about now employment is a pain.

RMA = Return Merchandise Authorization

Once you explain to the rep (Deven) that the parts don't actually fit the CM, then they will issue an RMA which includes a FedEx label to return it.

Out of curiosity, which model was it?

Ahh gotcha, that makes sense.
I ordered The Vinstar halo fog light kit for my 2013 countryman S all4. i was sent the kit for an R56/R57.

I took everything apart hoping it would fit but the plugs are just a no go.

I had a feeling that was the case. The Vinstars are universal fitment for the second gens. It's up to you to make them fit. The connector is the same on all the second gen minis and they all require some kind of "customization" to make these work.

The kit comes with splices to tie into the OEM harness just fine instead of the spade/ring that are on the kit. Those reddish/pink things are universal splices that clip onto the OEM harness.

@Kupona can confirm.

So “plug and play” doesn’t mean just plug it in and go? Lol well 🤷🏻‍♂️ I’d rather not cut and splice my wires. I thought about it but decided to not. If I get No where with the return I’ll have no choice.
thanks for the help btw, i appreciate this.

Yeah, unfortunately it's a destructive plug and play.

For what it's worth, the correct connector is the BMW Universal 2 pole. It's pretty easy to find if you want to tie it in that way. You can also buy the bulb adapters and make something from those as well.

Well ok then, maybe I’ll take a look at that. Im not one to shy from “mods” but electrical isn’t my favorite. The basic splice is one thing but that’s if someone has already cut the harness and all I have to do is connect the dots.
