Spark plug wel

Hey everyone,

went to change my spark plugs in my 2013 base, and found there was a hard black deposit at the bottom of the spark plug, that prohibited the spark plug socket from getting all the way down to the bottom of the plug. Basically, this hard deposit created a barrier, and the socket could not grab the bottom of the plug. I know I need a new valve cover gasket, and I found oil in this well a few months back. Could this be hardened oil? Or carbon deposit? I will attach a picture, it’s very hard to get a clear picture, but you can see the black ring around the bottom of the plug.
