Help a newbie out

I'm new to the whole MC scene. Just got a 2007 R56 Cooper S that needs some TLC. So tell me, when searching for used parts If it's advertised as for an R56 does that mean it will for sure fit mine?

Welcome!

Generally yes parts marked for R56 will fit but note that there was a mid cycle refresh in 2011 that led to some part incompatibilities. Parts for the LCI 2011-2013 R56 models would also be marked R56 but may not necessarily fit. But you can always use realoem.com to make sure part numbers fit your car
