Newbie Almost Mini Owner
Newbie Almost Mini Owner
I've posted a few questions in the past week and finally this coming week we'll be picking up our new Mini in British Racing Green!! So excited!
A few observations of the Mini dealer that we went to and this is the one we went to so not sure if the following is true of others. Seems most of the staff actually drive a Mini unlike other manufacturers dealers where the staff drive a hodge podge of brands. Maybe Mini gives them loaners to make it seem more cohesive and "club like" maybe not.
I also found the staff to be incredibly knowledgeable about the car and found out they go through speciality training. Again at others manufacturers dealers they seal the deal and barely know what they are selling and send you on your way. When we go to pick ours up our salesperson is going to great lengths to make sure we know everything before just having us take off.

I would agree with you comments.
At the dealership I bought my MINI, the back lot (which I assume is where the staff parks) is full of MINIs. Lots of different types with different levels of personalization. It was nice.
The salesperson and finance guy both had MINIs (I assume they get a discount) but they were able to talk about various things about ownership.
And when I picked up my MINI, the salesperson went through various features, location of things, and help set up a few things (pair phone for one). My wife commented that when she bought her Mazda3, they just drove it out and said "thanks, bye".

Congrats on the MINI.
You are lucky as many MINI dealers are like that as enthusiast drive and sell MINIs, but there are some dealers that isn't the case.
We have a few local dealers and I can tell you that the sales people that drive MINIs do actually do better than the ones that don't, but I also feel they are the ones that "Get It"
