Bimmercode, deep obd?

I replaced my battery recently. I need to code a change from an AGM to a lead acid. I was under the impression that the schwaben tool could do this, but apparently it cannot.I think I can do it through deep obd but I'm having a hard time finding genuine elm327 v2.1 adapter. Haven't seen much posted about deep OBD, but it looks very cool. Bimmercode appears to be another app that might work, however, I can't find whether it does battery adjustments or not. Anybody have any experience with either of these apps, and the adapters that I can use with them?

Bimmercode no as far as I know. see https://bimmercode.app/cars/r56/

That other app looks like it might be able to in theory do what you want. I have no experience with it. I'd contact developer.

Thanks. Too bad about bimmercode, looks cool. Deep obd I'm almost certain I can do through the ediabas tool built in. I'm trying to find an adapter. It wouldn't work with the eBay special I bought. Developer says I need a genuine elm327 v2. 1 or 1.5, although I didn't think there was a genuine 1.5.

Very confusing stuff. I think I found a BT adapter that *should* work with both. I'm really shocked that so few have used deep obd, it's been around for a few years at least. It looks really powerful, and it's open source. I'll update my progress.

Bimmercode is like the movie, “The Ring” tells you stuff that’s makes you think your Mini might die in 7 days...

Ha ha, yup. I bought a veepeak adapter on amazon that works with both. Doesn't work with my e46 though (only post 2007 supporting d-can interface apparently for deep obd, though the other obd reading apps work). I'm still figuring out the interface, but it does appear to be able to register the battery (but not code it). The error codes are the deep wtf error codes that are cryptic and scary, and are easily accessed in deep obd. It's got ediabas tool built in, but that just seems ridiculous trying to find the relevant prg files. Seems that deep obd though can link to what you need in ediabas...I've been slogging through youtube vids in german trying to figure it out.
Stay tuned.
