I've got a bum power steering motor on my 2006 cooper S. The first time it failed was about five years ago and I got it replaced very reasonably by a guy in Lexington, KY since I was living there at the time. This time I don't have any leads on a solid mechanic who won't steal my retirement fund.

Current quote from Mini was $1500 plus whatever they want to add at checkout (shop incidentals). European Motors out on Lovell Rd. wouldn't even discuss a quote without having the car in the shop which I frankly find unprofessional since I'm not asking them to sign a contract.

Anyone have any luck with a good mechanic in the area?

EDIT: Thanks to a seven year old post on this very topic which I didn't see, I'll be taking my car to Eurotech, not European Motors or Mini in Knoxville, tn.
