Hi Everyone, New to the Mini world. My first question is, please tell me what exactly I have so I don't sound dumber than I really am... I believe it's a Mini Cooper S Coupe. It's a 2015 model 2 seater and it's not the roadster. I have no knowledge past this point... Is it a Gen1, Gen2, Gen3, R series??? I see all of these models and series and I have no clue.

Now to the HARD question and part to find. I'm in need of a Combos or others refer to it as a Communication Box. I find hundreds on line for sale but can not find my exact box. #925716003. Correctly its, 84.10-9 257 160-03
Why on earth is it so hard to find this exact box? I have tried another box, very close 925716303 and it does not allow Bluetooth connectivity.

Any help or direction will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Since this combox is nearly impossible to find, is there any knowledge of compatibility? Can another box be used? Not having any luck asking this question at the dealers...

Even if I'm lucky enough to find one, exact number, does anyone know if these boxes are plug and play or do they require some special coding to work. Seems like alot of money to be able to connect your cell phone to the car via Bluetooth.

Thanks

my 2015 Roadster is equipped similarly to the Coupe I would suspect

my Roadster has bluetooth as 'standard equipment'

"included" on the window sticker .....

if you are 'over there' things may be different I suppose but if this is the case none of us yanks can help you as your experience may differ ...

I'm indeed over here...Lol

Mine too had Bluetooth however my combox experienced water and I want to replace it.

Can't find the exact box reasonably and unsure if it requires coding or is it plug and play?

Google search might have taken you to: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/select
but not very likely.

Yep, it sets under the passenger seat in a little storage area built into the floor. I would get one that has a MINI OEM part number it matches or a superseded part number. 84109257160 is the newest box it SS to.

my number was 84.10 9257160-03 I have found and purchased a 257160-01 and it didnt work. Maybe I'm overlooking something. Are these a plug and play unit or does these need coding of some sort to pair the box to the car?

Should be plug and play, you will have to re-pair everything.
