In search of Extended Servicee Plan Provider
In search of Extended Servicee Plan Provider
Goodday,
This past weekend we purchased (from a local Ford dealership) a 2013 R59, and the factory warranty on the Mini has expired. We would like the peace of mind having an ESP. So, can anyone give their experience with a company/plan they are happy with and what I might expect as far as cost for a 2-5 year plan?. The dealership offered us a Birkshire Hathaway, bumper to bumper, 24 month plan for 1800.00. Is that considered good? Our car has 14k miles on it if that makes a difference. Thanks!
Rich

Just be sure of what you are buying. There are two plans, one for maintenance (oil changes, etc) and one for repair. For what it's worth, we have a '12 R56, had some original warranty work done, the n18 has been solid for us since so skipped the extended warranty.
I never buy them. If you are going to, make sure you read the coverages and exclusions carefully. Don't rely on Internet reviews, because when the car breaks we won't be around to help you.
Here is a starting comparison, which plan is $1800?

Let the "offer" expire, then Saturday go in and offer $1300!!
Initial plan offers make the dealer 100% profit.
When I had an Infiniti the F&I manager offered me a 6 year 100K Elite Infiniti plan. I turned it down.
The day before my initial warranty expired 48 months, I went in with a check for $2000, and he took it.
