Howling noise inside my car

Hello everyone. I have a question to see if anyone else has had this problem. I have brought it to the dealership to look at the sunroof and other things. Nothing has fixed the issue. When I travel (yes I speed) over 75 I start to get a very loud howling sound when it is windy outside. It seems to be coming from the center area control panel on the roof. I have a 2015 Cooper Hard Top. It is not coming from the sunroof. It is from lower.. maybe the control panel or the window itself. Same sound even if the roof is open. Any thoughts?

Ok, I know you said the noise is from "lower" than the sunroof, but I'll ask anyway: do you have a roof rack?

No roof rack. Just the sunroof. Also checked the antenna. Someone mentioned that.

had a similar problem once and solved it with a roll of 2 inch wide masking tape?

WHAT?!?!?!

I taped over all the edges of the front glass and the whistle stopped. I knew I was on the right track.

So I took off all the tape except one side ... and continued testing with one side taped at a time until it was localized .... then taped half the side.

I'd had the front glass replaced and when I first got the whistle the company did the entire job again, no questions asked. And I still had the whistle. After locating WHERE I called 'em again and they again replaced no questions asked .... but this time I had a discussion with the installer and case closed!!!! He tried a different sealing material and everything went tight . . .

So tape every possible source you can think of and if it goes away ... continue your search ....

Try this: turn on the recirculate on your heat/cooling system. Sometimes this stops the howling!
Are you sure it is not coming from the door windows? as adjusting the door glass can stop many air noises.
Welcome to NAM!

Thank you all for the information. Yes I have tried the recirculate. Nothing there. Tried the windows and the sunroof open and closed. Same thing. I am going to try the tape on the windshield. I was leaning towards that being the cause. I will try that this weekend and let you know if it works. Thank you all again!!!
