John Cooper Works Racing Team was victorious yesterday at Watkins Glen International taking 1st,2nd and 5th over Porsche and others. Congratulations to Luis and the whole team. One of the reasons why I own a MINI.

I was going to Post but ended up heading over to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park and just got back. I was covered in champagne from Luis spaying the crowd.
Derek Jones (73) had the poll for the ST class. On the opening lap got shuffled back to about P5 then worked his way up to P2 before handing the car over to Mat Pombo and would have played right out giving them a chance at the top step but a Full Course Caution came out and let everyone pit under the yellow and that left them out. Mat fought back and kept the 73 in the hunt but had to much track to make up.
Jay Salinsky (52) took a lick when he went face first into the tires off Quebec Corner (I'm pretty sure he was pushed off track but I didn't have the angle to see the contact just the part where he was flaying across the grass and into the wall.
Mike LaMarra (37) did a great job getting the car up in contention and allowed James Vance to get to P1 and was leading with like 5 minutes to go when the Mossing Porsche jumped the curb and pushed James wide and ended up losing the top spot, I'm still waiting to see if the Stewarts do anything about it, (not a clean pass) at Moss Corner and James got shuffled back to P3 where they would finish.
Time to fix the cars and get ready for Lime Rock Park
Motor On!

Great time for MINI race fans!....it's been worth the wait. I emailed LAP Motorsports about wanting to buy a t-shirt to promote the JCW Race Team & Luis got right back with me. He said they were working on getting the team online store up for merchandise. That's great news!
I was watching them adjust the four wheel alignment prior to qualification, I should have asked what Camber they were using, but I don't think it isn't that much. the on track photo of #52 looks about -2 degrees.
I'll ask when I'm at Lime Rock Park in a week 20-22 July

I would think that it would be more than -2. Those tires like a lot of camber. However, looks can be deceiving. My rear wheels are at -2 and from the back it looks slammed except that it is still jacked up. It will be interesting to hear what their settings are.
Years ago Grassroots Motorsports tested a Gen I MINI on the track with different levels of camber. What they found was that with more than -3 they were riding so much on the inside of the tire that they lost braking traction. I know MINI friends run around -2.25 to something less than -3.
Hey, there are several of us looking to be at LRP for those races. What days do you think you will be there?
I'll be there Friday through Sunday, always do the Meet and Greet with the team, that is when they Pull the Names for the Fast Lap and the Give-a-ways.
Miss Susan and I will be in the MINI Corral with our matching R52s (stickerd up and with #92 and #93 door magnets)

Link up with Eddie07S at LRP as we were winding out the weekend, great to meet you.
OK, about the camber, via my conversation with Luis and straight from his mouth, they run Regulation Max -3.5 front and then they step back a bit on the rears to help it turn, so about -2 but that is as always + or - .5 depending on the track. (I'll post the photo I have of him under #52 between Practice 1 and Practice 2, yes he was helping adjust Toe-In).
And even with that they were pushing wide on T1 and would get caught by the other cars going under them. The well balanced and nimble Miatas romp on that track.
Do you happen to know what width wheels they run those 225-45x17 Continentals on
